Durham, NC - Abraham Nunez's second inning, two-out home run off of the Snorting Bull gave the Clippers their second 1-0 victory of the series that concluded Wednesday afternoon at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The Bulls best chance to score came in the bottom of the sixth after center fielder Jeremy Owens doubled to left and then moved to third on a bunt from second baseman Elliot Johnson, giving the Bulls runners on the corners with no outs. RHP Felix Diaz and the Clippers bullpen clamped down though, and retired the next 12 Bulls batters to secure the win.

Diaz (1-1), allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out seven. He retired the first 10 batters in order until shortstop Jorge Velandia doubled in the bottom of the fourth. Columbus reliever Chris Schroeder struck out five of the six batter he faced in the seventh and eighth innings, and closer Chris Booker picked up two strikeouts and the save after pitching a perfect ninth inning giving the Columbus pitching staff 14 strikeouts on the day

Jason Hammel (1-1) took the loss despite striking out eight and giving up only two hits and three walks in six innings of work.

The Bulls will travel to Charlotte for two games on Thursday and Friday night, and then return to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park to face the Knights on Saturday evening at 5 PM. For tickets, go to www.durhambulls.com or call the box office at (919) 956-BULL.
