Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls continue to add more depth to their roster by picking up Luke Novak from the BCHL's Cowichan Valley Capitals.
Novak, a native of Waukesha, Wisconsin had no points in four games for the Capitals. The 6-0, 183 pound forward spent the past three seasons with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals Under 18 team of the Tier I Elite League where he was efficient offensively.
In the 2013-14 season, Novak registered 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points and 20 penalty minutes in 36 games. In the prior two seasons combined the young skilled forward appeared in 59 games and had 12goals and 23 assists for 35 points.
"We are really excited to have him on our team," said Bulls Head Coach Jon Rogger. "He played in Milwaukee last few years advancing to Nationals last season. He is a skilled forward who can provide some offense for us."
Rogger said players coming from the BCHL to the NAHL don't notice much of a change.
"Luke shouldn't notice too much of a chance except it being a little bit rougher but being in junior hockey the last few months should help," Rogger said. "Luke came in this week and skated with us on the road and he fit in well with our group," he said. "I'm happy he has been able to practice with us a couple of times before we get going."
Luke Novak and the Amarillo Bulls play their second of three straight against the Wichita Falls Wildcats tonight at Kay Yeager Coliseum at 7 pm. Fans can tune into the action live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm-Up Show at 6:40 pm.
