
Bullies Sign Asheville Duo

Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced the signings of forwards Peter Bournazakis and Joel Petkoff. Bournazakis and Petkoff will make their debuts tonight when the Bullies battle the Wheeling Nailers at 7PM from WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.
Bournazakis, 28, was previously playing with Asheville of the Southern Professional Hockey League this season where he led the Aces in scoring and ranked seventh overall in the SPHL scoring race with 22 goals and 56 points through 43 games. The four-year professional has enjoyed stints in the ECHL, Central Hockey League, United Hockey League, and Germany since graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2001 where he played alongside Bullies Head Coach Matt Thomas as a freshman. Bournazakis, who attended training camp with the Bullies in 2003, has 87 goals and 226 points in 210 career games.
Petkoff, 22, was teammates with Bournazakis in Asheville and ranked second on the team in scoring with 22 goals and 47 points through 48 games. In his rookie season, the Toronto, ON native has also skated in two games with the ECHL's Greenville Grrrowl this year.
Atlantic City has also placed forward Scott Horvath on the 7-day injured reserve and signed goaltender Dave Marlin as an emergency goaltender. The Bullies travel back to Wheeling to battle the Nailers at 7PM tonight. Catch all the action live on ESPN Radio 1450AM and the SurferNetwork beginning with "Bullies Countdown" at 6:40PM.
Atlantic City returns to Historic Boardwalk Hall at 7:05PM on Friday as they host the East Division leading Charlotte Checkers.
