Green Bay Rockers News Release

Duncan McAlpine's 11th inning single plated Justin Seager from third base, and the Bullfrogs walked-off against the Battle Creek Bombers on Friday night to win their 11th out of their last 12 games.

Green Bay opened up the scoring in the second inning. David Armendariz and Kevin Krause each scored on an Alex Abrams groundout and a Jason McMurray single, respectively.

The Bombers battled back in the fourth inning. Sikes Orvis led off with a solo home run to cut the lead in half, 2-1.

The Bullfrogs tacked on one in the fourth and one in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead. Brian Celsi drove in both of the runs with RBI singles.

Battle Creek tied it up in the seventh inning with three runs against Bullfrogs reliever Mac Acker. The first run came in on an RBI single by Jeremy Shay to make it 4-2. Two runs more runs came in when Abrams committed an error at third base, allowing Dylan Delaney to reach. This tied the game at 4-4.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the 11th. Justin Seager led off the inning with a walk and then advanced to second base when Armendariz reached on an error by Bombers third-baseman Dillon Moyer. Battle Creek had five errors in the game.

In his second at bat of the game, Duncan McAlpine launched a walk-off single over the head of Daniel Rockett in center-field to win the game for the Bullfrogs.

It was their first walk-off victory of the season, and Green Bay is now 3-2 in extra inning games. This was the third time this season that Battle Creek and Green Bay have went to extra innings.

Will Landsheft (1-0) earned the victory for the Bullfrogs. He struck out five batters in two innings of work. Caleb Vincent (1-2) took the loss for Battle Creek.

The Bullfrogs are now 20-10 on the year and have won 11 out of 12 games. LaCrosse lost on Friday night, so Green Bay is now just two games back of the Loggers for first place in the South Division. There are five games remaining in the first half of the season.

The Bullfrogs will go for their second consecutive series sweep at Joannes Stadium tomorrow night. Join us at Joannes Stadium for Sudsy Saturdays presented by Bud Light with 107.5 The Fan. Enjoy double bubble draft Bud Light beginning with the first pitch. Tickets are still available.
