Green Bay Rockers News Release
Billy Moon's walk-off home run off of Tyler Sparger in the ninth inning propelled the Bullfrogs to victory at Joannes Stadium on Saturday, 4-2 was the final.
The Chinooks scored both of their runs off of Green Bay starter Taylor Black in the first inning. Forrest Chadwick led off with a walk and then came home to score when Eric Aguilera grounded into an unconventional 4-5 double play. Aguilera later scored on Ryan Krill's double.
The game remained scoreless until Green Bay cut the lead in half in the seventh inning. Taylor Peterson doubled to start the rally and then later came home on a Collin Shaw RBI infield single to cut the Lakeshore lead to 2-1.
The Bullfrogs tied the game in the eighth without getting a hit. Ransom LaLonde walked to lead off, advanced to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a Jason McMurray ground out, and then came home to score on another wild pitch to make the score 2-2.
In his first relief appearance since June, Bradley Wallace threw two scoreless innings in the eighth and the ninth to keep the game in reach for the Bullfrogs.
Extra innings looked inevitable to start the bottom of the ninth. Collin Shaw and David Armendariz were each retired to begin the frame. With two outs, Nick Stein drew a four pitch walk and then Billy Moon stole the show and hit an opposite field walk-off shot to give Green Bay its sixth victory of the second half.
The win went to Wallace (5-2). Black gave up two earned runs in three innings of work. Bryce Bellin pitched four scoreless innings in relief. Green Bay pitchers struck out 12 batters on the night.
The Bullfrogs head to KapCo Park in Mequon tomorrow for the series' rubber match against Lakeshore. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM. If you cannot make it to the game, go to www.greenbaybullfrogs.com to listen live or to www.northwoodsleague.tv to watch live.
