Green Bay Rockers News Release
Mequon, Wis. - Four walks in the 8th inning by Bullfrogs relief pitcher Sam Brunner (Dodge City CC) proved to be costly as the Lakeshore Chinooks were able to push across the go ahead run on just one hit in the inning. An RBI groundout by Johnny Bekakis (Long Beach State) scoring Matt Beaty (Belmont) was too little too late, as the Bullfrogs fall to the Chinooks by a final score of 5-4. Beaty finished the game 1-4 extending his hitting streak to 11 games.
Dean Long (Emporia State) got the Frogs on the scoreboard first with an RBI single in the 2nd inning. Carter White (Memphis) quickly answered back though with a towering solo shot to right center tying the game up at 1. Long finished the game 1-4, while White finished 2-2.
The Chinooks took the lead in the third inning thanks to a Zack Bowers (Georgia) single scoring White to take a 3-1 lead. A big two-run homer by Ryan Koziol (Gulf Coast State) tied the game up at three a piece in the eighth.
Andrew Elliot (Wright State) picked up his first win in relief closing out the game with one and two thirds innings pitched, allowing one run on two hits, while striking out two.
Brunner takes his first loss on the season for the Bullfrogs, walking four, while allowing his first earned run of the season on just one
