Green Bay Rockers News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - After a home-and-home double header with the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Wednesday, the Green Bay Bullfrogs will return to the road for a two-game series with the Kalamazoo Growlers beginning on Thursday. The Bullfrogs, who were last in Michigan on Monday and Tuesday when they took on the Battle Creek Bombers, will play their next three games on the road.

For the second time this season, the Bullfrogs swept the Woodchucks in a home-and-home double header. In the first game, in Wausau, Wisconsin, Green Bay pounded out 11 hits and scored ten runs to defeat Wisconsin, 10-1. Luke Watson (UW-Stevens Point) gave up no runs and three hits over seven innings while Brian Celsi (California) went 4-for-5 with four RBI.

In game two, the Bullfrogs found themselves down in an early 2-0 hole but came back to score the next five runs of the game to take a 5-2 lead. Despite a late Woodchucks rally, the Bullfrogs held on to win game two, 5-4. Nathan Disch (Jacksonville) gave up only one earned run over seven innings and Paul Jacobson (South Dakota State) went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Green Bay in the night cap.

The Bullfrogs will now turn their attention to the Growlers and will hand the ball off to All-Star Roberto Baroniel (Nova Southeastern). Baroniel will be making his team-high 11th start of the season on Thursday and has a 4-2 record with a 3.13 ERA. In 60.1 innings of work this season, Baroniel has struck out 41 batters while walking only 17. In his most recent start, Baroniel earned a no decision after giving up six earned runs on six hits while striking out five against the La Crosse Loggers.

Kalamazoo will counter with lefty Dillon Haviland (Duke). Haviland has appeared in 11 games with seven starts for the Growlers this season and owns a 2-5 record with a 6.00 ERA. The senior Haviland's most recent start came on July 17th against the Loggers when he earned a no decision after throwing five innings and gave up four runs on eight hits. On May 31st, Haviland threw one-third of an inning against the Bullfrogs and gave up two runs on two hits.

First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. (CST) from Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo.
