Bullfrogs Lose Pitchers' Duel to Lakeshore, 3-2

The Bullfrogs fell 3-2 in a low-scoring battle to the Chinooks at Kapco Park on Monday.

Aided by two Green Bay errors in the inning, Lakeshore opened the scoring in the first inning. Chinooks first-baseman Ryan Krill singled to left field, and Bullfrogs' left-fielder Boomer White misplayed the ball, allowing Brant Valich to score from first base, giving Lakeshore a 1-0 advantage.

The Bullfrogs promptly tied the game in the top of the second when Cabe Reiten came home to score on an RBI single from Jose Godinez.

The Bullfrogs didn't score again until the eighth inning. In the fifth, Lakeshore took the lead again on an RBI groundout from Chris Manning. Manning drove in another run in the seventh with a single to put the Chinooks ahead 3-1

The Bullfrogs cut the Lakeshore lead in half in the eighth inning when pinch runner Jimmy Coady scored from second base on an error.

The Bullfrogs were able to get one runner on in the ninth but couldn't bring him home.

Despite not giving up an earned run, Derek Peterson (0-2) took the loss for the Bullfrogs. Chris Rubio (1-1) earned the victory and Karch Kowalczyk got the save.
