Green Bay Rockers News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs, after a three-game road trip against the Wisconsin Woodchucks and Kenosha Kingfish, return to Joannes Stadium on Sunday to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The Bullfrogs fell to the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Thursday, before heading to Kenosha on Friday and Saturday. Green Bay lost Friday's game to the Kingfish by a score of 4-3, and Saturday night's game was suspended in the tenth inning due to fog.

Saturday's game was suspended with the score tied at seven in the top of the tenth inning before the fog rolled in. The Bullfrogs had runners on second and third base with no outs with Matt Beaty (Belmont) at the plate with a three-and-one count when the game was called. Shortstop Julian Russell (Chicago State) made his debut with the Bullfrogs on Saturday, and was 3-for-5 on the night. The game will resume in the top of the tenth inning on August 4th at 5:30 PM in Kenosha.

Corey Fischer (Madison College) will start for the Bullfrogs on Sunday. The six-foot right-hander from Denmark, Wis. will be making his second start on the season. In two starts, Fischer has a 1-0 record with a 3.64 ERA. In his most recent start, on June 15th, Fischer took the loss, throwing six and one-third innings, giving up four earned runs on nine hits. Against Lakeshore on June 8th, Fischer's debut with the Bullfrogs, he pitched much better, throwing six innings, while giving up only three hits and one run to the Chinooks. Fischer earned his first win of the season in that appearance.

Wisconsin Rapids will counter with Jon Malmin (Texas) on the mound. The six-foot left-hander has made five appearances for the Rafters this season (three starts) and holds a 1-1 record with a 1.44 ERA. In Malmin's three starts this season, he has allowed only two earned runs and twelve hits in sixteen and two-thirds innings. His lone win on the season came against the Wisconsin Woodchucks, as he threw six innings while giving up only three hits and just one run.

Following Sunday's game, the Bullfrogs and Rafters series will continue, as the two teams will head to Wisconsin Rapids for games on Monday and Tuesday, before playing one more game at Joannes Stadium on Wednesday. It will also be Dad Appreciation Night at the ballpark on Sunday. Fans are encouraged to bring a glove and ball to the game and play catch on the field once the game is over. First pitch on Sunday is scheduled for 3:05 PM from Joannes Stadium.
