Duluth Huskies News Release
(Duluth, MN) Another lost lead led to another frustrating loss for the Huskies at Wade Stadium. Late mistakes in the field wasted a five-run comeback as the Huskies fell 11-9 to the Mankato MoonDogs.
Despite the late inning collapse, the offense was clicking throughout the game. Six members of the team had at least two hits; Dom Brugnoni led the attack with three hits, two runs scored, and one RBI. Alex Greene scored three runs and had two hits from the leadoff spot; Keach Ballard had two hits and a season-high four RBI, and Vinny Rodriguez kept rolling with two hits and an RBI. Two recent additions to the Huskies, Trent Chatterton (UCLA) and Alex Michaels, (Cal Poly) added two hits each. AJ McElderry threw 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing only one run on five hits.
Game two starts tomorrow at 6:35pm.
