Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Kenosha, Wis. - After a lengthy game last night, the Kingfish came back this afternoon looking large and in charge. The Kingfish were dominant in all facets of the game, blasting the Battle Creek Bombers 8-3 and move to 13-11 on the year.

The Kingfish were exceptional in all areas today. Buddy Reed and Pat Porter both made phenomenal catches to end the sixth and seventh inning. Zach Morgenstern and Garret McKenzie pitched well and kept the Bombers to one hit in comparison to the 13 for King Elvis' squad.

Just as impressive was the offense from the Kingfish. Kyle Brooks went 3 for 4 with two hits and two runs. Pat Porter was 3-5 with one run and two RBI while Steven Sensley was 2-4 with one run. Porter now leads the League with 26 RBI.

The Bombers were able to get three runs in the fifth but Morgenstern was able to get the outs and keep them silent for the better half of the day.

The Kingfish scored right away in the first and then later in the fourth to go up 5-0. The Kingfish scored in five of the eight innings with their rally coming in the sixth to pull away with the lead at 8-3.

The Kingfish finish their home stand tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Bombers. The Kingfish return to Simmons Field on Saturday, June 28th to face the Kalamazoo Growlers and will have a special appearance by Ozzie Guillen.
