
Buller has surgery, two off DL

Augusta, Ga. - GreenJackets catcher Dayton Buller has returned to San Francisco to have surgery for a torn ligament in his left thumb and is most likely out for the season. Buller was batting .231 in 20 games with 15 hits.
The Giants have also announced that Craig Whitaker and Ben Thurmond are off the disabled list. Whitaker was on the DL with a middle back sprain. Thurmond was injured with a sublox of the shoulder.
