
Bulldogs Unbeaten in 14 Games on the Road

The Hamilton Bulldogs continue to chase records as they tied the Rochester Americans 3-3 in Rochester on Sunday; making it 14 straight road games the Bulldogs have not suffered a loss. The current record is held by the Buffalo Bisons, who over the course of two seasons (Mar. 3, 1968 to Dec. 7, 1968) recorded a 15-game road undefeated streak. The Bulldogs will have the opportunity to tie the record when they visit the Manitoba Moose on Friday.
This week the Bulldogs will host the Albany River Rats on Wednesday, January 22nd at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton for a 7:00 p.m. start. The Bulldogs will then wrap up the week by visiting the Manitoba Moose for a pair of games, which includes contests on Friday, January 24th at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, January 25th at 8:30 p.m. Bulldogs fans can listen to all the action on 820 CHAM-AM and on-line at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.

BULLDOGS' ALL-TIME! WINNINGEST COACH JOINS CANADIENS:
The Montreal Canadiens, a parent club of the Hamilton Bulldogs, have appointed Claude Julien as the new Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens. Julien was promoted from his head coaching position with the Hamilton Bulldogs to the Canadiens. Geoff Ward, Julien's former assistant coach, has been named the Hamilton Bulldogs interim head coach. Julien, 42, was in his third season as Head Coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs. Under Julien this season, the Bulldogs led the American Hockey League with 33 wins, 6 losses, 3 ties and 3 overtime losses for a total of 72 points and a .800 winning percentage. Julien had been selected as Head Coach of the Planet/USA at the AHL Annual All-Star game. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs have set or tied no less than 20 team records. In his two and a half seasons with the Bulldogs, Julien earned 98 wins, 77 losses, 19 ties and 11 overtime losses.
BULLDOGS' WARD TO BE JOINED BY HOUSTON'S McLELLAN AT 2003 DODGE AHL ALL-STAR CLASSIC:
Hamilton Bulldogs interim head coach Geoff Ward, will be joined by Houston Aero's head coach Todd McLellan and together they will join forces to lead the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star Team in next month's 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic. McLellan replaces Claude Julien, the former head coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs, who was hired Friday to be the new head coach of the Montreal Canadiens. McLellan's Aeros owned the AHL's second-best record on Jan. 12, the pre-determined cut-off date to choose the PlanetUSA coach.

The Hamilton Bulldogs have announced as promised the opportunity for fans to weigh in on the name of Hamilton's professional AHL team. 'You Make The Call' also will allow fans the opportunity to choose the colour scheme their team will wear. Fans are encouraged to visit any Hamilton Tim Hortons franchise to fill in a ballot choosing one of the three names: 'Bulldogs', 'Canadiens', or 'Habs'; as well as the colour scheme that the team will wear: 'Blue, White, Red and Bronze' (current) or 'Red, White & Blue' (Montreal Canadiens). Fans will also have an opportunity to win two tickets to a select Bulldogs' game in weekly draws by just entering their ballot at Tim Hortons locations throughout the greater Hamilton area.

Hamilton Bulldogs fans can listen to all the Bulldogs home and road action this season on Hamilton's 820 CHAM-AM. Derek Wills provides all the play-by-play, while Hamilton radio personality Al Craig is the colour commentator for all home games and select road games.
