Bulldogs Sign Frederic St-Denis To Contract

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today that the club has signed defenceman Frederic St-Denis to a one-year American Hockey League contract, with a club option for a second year. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
St-Denis, a 22-year-old native of Greenfield Park, Quebec, posted 18 points (4-14-18) and four penalty minutes in 28 games with the Univeristy of Quebec Trois Rivieres in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. He led all Trois Rivieres defencemen in points and assists.
Prior to last year, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound blueliner spent five seasons with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. St-Denis accumulated a total of 146 points (44-102-146) in 285 games with his most productive season coming in 2005-2006 when he recorded 67 points (17-50-67) in 69 games, leading all Voltigeurs defencemen in points. He played alongside Montreal Canadiens forward Guillaume Latendresse from 2003-2006 in Drummondville.

All 'Dogs pre-season games will be broadcast on the club's flagship radio station, TALK 820 (820 AM) and online at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com. Joining Hamilton Bulldogs Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills as a guest Colour Commentator for all pre-season broadcasts will be former St. John's Maple Leafs and St. John's Fog Devils Play-By-Play Announcer Brian Rogers. All 'Dogs pre-season broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show five minutes before the game's scheduled start time.
The Hamilton Bulldogs are scheduled to open their 13th AHL season at MTS Centre in Winnipeg on Friday, October 10th, when they will meet the Manitoba Moose in the first of back-to-back games between the North Division rivals. The 'Dogs 2008-2009 home opener will take place Friday, October 17th, when they battle the Hartford Wolf Pack at Copps Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
