HAMILTON, ON - Matt D'Agostini registered a goal, an assist and was named first star in the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-1 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday evening at Copps Coliseum. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve their record to 34-32-3-7 on the season.

Hamilton took a 1-0 lead at 6:33 of the opening frame when Eric Manlow redirected a Matt D'Agostini slap shot past Grand Rapids' netminder Jimmy Howard. The goal was Manlow's 12th tally of the campaign.

The Griffins drew even at 10:03 of the second period when Evan McGrath notched a power-play marker. Jamie Tardif and Carl Corazzini assisted on McGrath's 16th goal of the season.

Jonathan Ferland gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead at 10:08 of the third stanza when he stripped a Griffin's defender of the puck and buried his 13th of the campaign. The unassisted goal was the eventual game-winner.

The ‘Dogs added some insurance when D'Agostini tipped home a Conrad Martin shot from the point at 16:32 of the final frame. Brock Trotter picked up the other assist on the 3-1 goal.

Cedrick Desjardins made 30 saves on 31 shots for Hamilton to earn the win, while Howard stopped 28 of 31 shots in a losing effort for the Grand Rapids.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-4 with the man advantage, while the Griffins went 1-for-3 on the power play.
