Moose release Estrada from PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have released forward Kevin Estrada from his pro tryout contract. Estrada will now re-join the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Estrada, 25, appeared in nine games with the Moose after signing his pro tryout contract on Mar. 12/08. In that time, he scored one goal and one assist for two points and nine penalty minutes. In 59 games so far this season with the Salmon Kings, the Surrey, B.C. native has scored 18 goals and 30 assists for 48 points and 45 penalty minutes. Estrada has now played in 121 career games in the AHL with Manitoba, Albany, and Lowell and has scored eight goal and 18 assits for 26 points and 85 penalty minutes. In 77 career ECHL games with Victoria and Florida, Estrada has scored 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points and 62 penalty minutes.

Estrada was originally drafted in the third round, 91st overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
