
Moose announce year-end award winners

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, were pleased to announce the winners of their 12th annual year-end awards prior to their game tonight versus the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at the MTS Centre.
Manitoba Moose forward Brad Moran received three awards on the night thanks to the best season of his pro career. So far this season, the Abbotsford, BC native is the team leader in scoring with a career-high 74 points, good for sixth in the AHL in scoring. He also leads the Moose in assists which is fifth in the AHL. He is the team-leader in game-winning goals (6) and shots on goal (174). Moran scored more than one point in seven consecutive games from Mar. 15/08 @ Hershey to Mar. 28/08 @ Rochester which set a new franchise record. Earlier this season, Moran was named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 30th and was also named the CCM Edge/AHL Player of the Month for March. As a result, Moran received the TFI Financial Services Leading Scorer Award and the 3-Stars Award. He also tied with Moose netminder Drew MacIntyre for the Instaframe Most Valuable Player Award.
Other year-end award winners included MacIntyre who also won the University of Winnipeg Julian Klymkiw Community Service Award. Alexandre Bolduc was named the winner of the Manitoba Blue Cross Unsung Hero Award while Moose captain Mike Keane won the Toyota "Never Quits" Hardest Working Player Award. Moose leading goal scorer Michael Grabner was named the Lawton Partners Rookie of the Year, while Maxime Fortunus was given the Payworks Best Defencemen Award. Forward Mike Brown was named the winner of the Remax Most Popular Player Award as voted by the fans on an online poll.
Representatives from the Moose corporate partners were on hand for the pre-game ceremonies to present the award winners with their trophies.
