Bulldogs look to snap three-game winless streak

The Hamilton Bulldogs will look to snap a three-game winless streak as they play in three games this week. Beginning tonight (Wednesday) the Bulldogs will play the Manitoba Moose (affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks) in the first game of a two-game road series at the Winnipeg Arena (8:35 p.m.). Hamilton and Manitoba will clash once again on Friday, Oct. 24 (8:30 p.m.) in Canada's windy city. The Bulldogs will round out the week by hosting the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings) at Copps Coliseum on Sunday, Oct. 26 (4:00 p.m.)

PLEKANEC ON FOUR-GAME POINT STREAK:

Bulldogs forward Tomas Plekanec has been one of the Bulldogs top offensive threats this season. Plekanec is currently on a four-game point streak, where he has tallied five points (2g-3a-5pts). The native of Kladno, Czech Republic was the Montreal Canadiens third round choice, 71st overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

SVITOV NETS FIRST TWO BULLDOGS GOALS:

Centre Alexander Svitov scored his first two goals with the Bulldogs in Sunday's 4-3 OTL to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Svitov, who stands at 6'3, 198 pounds, played in 63 games with the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning last season and posted 8 points (4-4-8).

BULLDOGS PRODUCING PLAYERS FOR THE NHL:

A total of 17 players who skated for the Hamilton Bulldogs during the 2002-03 season are now playing in the NHL. The Montreal Canadiens have a number of these players currently on their roster including: Jason Ward, Michael Ryder, Marcel Hossa, Ron Hainsey, Francis Bouillon, and Mathieu Garon.

HAMILTON SCORING EARLY:

The Bulldogs have scored the first goal of the game in four of their first five contests. However, Hamilton's lone win came when the opposition scored first (Oct. 11 at CLE 4-3 W)

The Hamilton Bulldogs roster currently stands at 25 players including two goaltenders, eight defencemen and fifteen forwards.
