LOOKING AHEAD:

San Antonio visits Utah on Wednesday (7:05 MT, 8:05 CT) for the teams' fourth meeting of the young season. The Rampage remained unbeaten on the year (4-0-1-0) and kept the Grizzlies winless (0-3-1-1) with a 1-1 tie at the "E" Center on Monday, with Travis Scott leading the way again behind a 37-save effort. The 2002 AHL All-Star goaltender has stopped 174 of 181 shots this season, good for a 1.38 GAA and a save percentage of .961. San Antonio has killed off 27 of 28 shorthanded situations this season (96.4%); Utah is just 1-for-32 (3.1%) on the power play.

Hamilton battles Manitoba on Wednesday (7:30 CT, 8:30 ET) for the first time since the Bulldogs' seven-game triumph in last year's conference semifinals. Hamilton has dropped four of its first five outings in 2003-04, including three by a single goal. The Moose are back home after splitting two games in St. John's over the weekend. Manitoba winger Fedor Fedorov leads the league in scoring with 10 points, and rookie defenseman Kirill Koltsov has six points in his first six AHL games. Bulldogs captain Benoit Gratton has scored four goals on just seven shots this year.

After splitting a pair of meetings to open the season in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins head to Scope on Wednesday (7:15 ET) to tangle with division rival Norfolk. The Pens have rotated three goaltenders in their first three games of the year, but only rookie Andy Chiodo has gotten in the win column, a 4-2 decision over the Admirals on Oct. 11. Norfolk defenseman Marty Wilford leads the league with eight assists this season, and rookies Matt Ellison, Matt Keith, Anton Babchuk, Duncan Keith and Michal Barinka have combined to score 10 of the Ads' 18 goals.
