
Bulldogs Ice Marlies 3-2 in Overtime

Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum. Brendon Nash scored the overtime winner while Drew MacIntyre made 32 saves on 34 shots to lead the Bulldogs to victory.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 10:34 of the first frame. Kyle Klubertanz blasted a shot that was stopped by Toronto starting goaltender Ben Scrivens. The rebound bounced out to Olivier Fortier, who was positioned in the slot. Fortier rifled a shot that beat Scrivens on the glove side.
The 'Dogs took a 2-0 lead at 4:58 of the second stanza. Aaron Palushaj received the puck from Nigel Dawes before skating behind the net. Palushaj wrapped around the net before backhanding a shot off the pads of Scrivens and into the back of the net.
The Marlies got on the scoreboard at 10:26 of the middle frame. Josh Engel fired a shot that was stopped by Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre. Matt Caruana grabbed the loose rebound and whacked it past MacIntyre and into the net.
Toronto tied the game 2-2 at 1:24 of the third stanza. Joe Colborne intercepted a passing attempt by the Bulldogs before racing down the ice on a two-on-one. Colborne proceeded to rifle a shot over the glove of MacIntyre and into the top right corner of the net.
Hamilton scored the game-winning goal 2:21 into overtime. Gabriel Dumont received the puck from Mathieu Carle before sending a pass to Brendon Nash, who was in the slot. Nash proceeded to release a shot that sailed past Scrivens and gave the 'Dogs the win.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, March 9th when they host the Rockford IceHogs for a 7:00 p.m. game at Copps Coliseum. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
