HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs put the brakes on a three game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Barrie Colts Friday night at FirstOntario Centre.
The Bulldogs power-play came out firing in the first period with goals from Brandon Saigeon (11) and Marian Studenic (9) to grab a 2-0 lead by the mid-way point of the period. Barrie cut into that lead with a power-play goal of their own to make it 2-1 after twenty minutes.
The Colts got the only goal of the second period as the two teams went to their dressing rooms tied 2-2.
Hamilton dominated the third out-shooting the opposition 14-4 and were rewarded as Marian Studenic (10) scored his second of the night at 13:04. That goal turned out to be the game winner as the Bulldogs held on for the 3-2 win.
Anthony Stefano scored both Barrie goals and now has seventeen on the season.
Hamilton's season record improves to 23-20-3-2. It's their third straight win on home ice with their record at FirstOntario Centre now 11-9-3-2.
The Bulldogs play host the Niagara IceDogs Saturday Night at 7pm.
