Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs were a perfect 4-0 against the Niagara IceDogs this season but not Saturday night as the visitors left FirstOntario Centre with a 4-3 win.

Niagara got a fast start taking a 1-0 lead just :50 second in, but the Bulldogs rebounded with a pair of power-play goals from Matthew Strome (27) and Marian Studenic (11) to take a 2-1 lead by the 6:59 mark. However, the IceDogs tied the game 2-2 before the first period ended.

The Bulldogs had several great chances in the second period, but it was the IceDogs who scored twice, sandwiched around Matthew Strome's (28) second goal of the game, as Niagara took a 4-3 lead after forty minutes.

There was no scoring in the third as the Bulldogs couldn't get any sustained offensive pressure.

Hamilton out-shot Niagara 42-32, but IceDogs goalie Stephen Dhillon was the difference as he stopped 39 shots, including several game savers.

The Bulldogs season record drops to 23-21-3-2 and their three game winning streak on home ice is over as they are now 11-10-3-2 at FirstOntario Centre.

The Bulldogs are right back in action Sunday afternoon as they travel to Oshawa to face the Generals at 2 pm.
