
Bulldogs extend unbeaten streak to franchise record 10 games

HAMILTON, Ontario - Jason Ward scored twice and Mathieu Garon stopped 28 shots to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Saturday at Copps Coliseum.
Jani Rita and Michael Ryder also scored for Hamilton, which extended its unbeaten streak to a franchise-record 10 games (8-0-2-0). Benoit Gratton contributed a pair of assists to raise his league-leading point total to 46.
Travis Brigley recorded the lone goal in the third period for the Ducks, who had a two-game winning streak stopped.
Jean-Francois Damphousse turned away 41 of the 45 shots he faced in the losing cause.
The Ducks play the fourth game of a five-game road trip today at Rochester.
Note: Cincinnati defenseman Chris O'Sullivan was injured 3:59 into the third period when he was involved in a collision with Hamilton's Fernando Pisani. O'Sullivan was attended to by the Bulldogs' team doctor and paramedics for 20 minutes before leaving the ice on a stretcher and taken to an area hospital.
