Crunch Sign Defenseman Jason Crain

Syracuse, NY (December 21, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they signed defenseman Jason Crain to a professional try-out contract.

Crain, 22, had been playing in Dayton (ECHL) where he appeared in nine games, recording two goals, seven assists and six penalty minutes. He began the season in Mississippi (ECHL), tallying three assists and eight penalty minutes in 16 games. Prior to turning professional, Crain played four years at Ohio State University (CCHA), where he was team captain his senior year (2001-02). A native of Natrona Heights, PA, Crain was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with their second choice, 74th overall, in the 1999 Entry Draft.

Syracuse returns to action tonight when they host the Springfield Falcons in their only War Memorial at Oncenter appearance this season.
