
Bulldogs End Road Trip with Loss

OMAHA, NE - Despite out-shooting the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 20-18, the Hamilton Bulldogs finished off a four-game road trip with a 3-1 loss on Tuesday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. With the loss, Hamilton's record drops to 23-18-1-1.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 3:19 of the first period when Andre Benoit posted his fifth goal of the season. Benoit took a pass from Dan Jancevski and bounced a shot off of Knights netminder Curtis McElhinney's glove hand and into the back of the net.
With only 51 seconds remaining in the middle stanza, Justin Taylor evened the score for the Knights with his sixth tally of the campaign. Adam Pardy and Tim Ramholt earned assists on the goal.
Omaha took a 2-1 lead on the power play at 6:24 of the final frame when Warren Peters notched his eighth goal of the season. Pardy picked up his second helper of the game on the eventual game-winning goal.
Eric Godard added an insurance marker for the Knights at 13:07 of the third period. The goal was Godard's fifth of the campaign and made the score 3-1 for Omaha.
Bulldogs blueliner Andre Benoit was named the 'Pearson Dunn Player of the Game' for the third consecutive contest.
Hamilton was 0-for-8 on the power play while Omaha went 1-for-5 with the man-advantage.
Jaroslav Halak made 15 saves on 18 shots for the Bulldogs in a losing effort. At the other end of the ice, McElhinney picked up his 16th win of the season after turning aside 19 of the 20 shots he faced for the Knights.
