
Wild reassigns RW Ward; LW Rooneem to ECHL Texas

HOUSTON, Texas - The National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild has reassigned right wing Joel Ward to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, the teams announced Tuesday. Also, the Aeros have reassigned left wing Mark Rooneem to the ECHL's Texas Wildcatters.
Ward, 26 (12/2/80), has eight points (4-4=8) and 18 penalty minutes in 27 games for the Aeros this season. He was recalled by Minnesota for the second time on January 10, and has one assist in nine games with the Wild. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Toronto native put up 22 points (8-14=22) in 66 games as a rookie with the Aeros in 2005-06.
Rooneem, 24 (1/9/83), played two games with the Aeros over the weekend, picking up two penalty minutes. Rooneem has posted 11 points (6-5=11) and 41 penalty minutes in 33 games for Texas this season. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound native of Hinton, Alta., has one goal in nine career games with Houston in the last three seasons. Minnesota signed Rooneem as a free agent June 3, 2004.
