ORONTO, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Toronto Marlies on Saturday night at Ricoh Coliseum. The Bulldogs record now stands at 38-24-3-5 through 70 games on the season.

After a scoreless first period, the Marlies took a 1-0 lead at 16:54 of the second frame on the power play when Chris Harrington notched his 10th goal of the season. Harrington took a cross-ice pass from Jaime Sifers and beat goaltender Yann Danis with a slap shot from the point.

With two power-play goals in the third period, Hamilton took a 2-1 lead. Mathieu Biron tied the game 1-1 at the 6:42 mark with a wrist shot that found its way into the Marlies net through a crowd. Eric Manlow then tipped in a Dan Jancevski shot for his second goal in as many games to give the ‘Dogs the lead at 8:58 of the frame.

Marlies forward Tyson Nash evened the score 2-2 at 15:36 of the third stanza with his 15th tally of the campaign. Nash, standing in front of the Bulldogs net, banged in a loose puck to tie the game and eventually send the contest to overtime.

After overtime solved nothing, the game went to a shootout. Mikhail Grabovski was the lone successful shooter for the ‘Dogs in the shootout, while Colin Murphy and Brad Leeb scored for the Marlies to lift them to a 3-2 win.

Hamilton was 2-for-7 on the power play, while the Marlies went 1-for-5 with the extra-man.
