TORONTO, ONT. - The Hamilton Bulldogs (32-25-11-0) scored two early third-period power play goals to come from behind and defeat the Toronto Marlies (31-25-9-0) 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ont.
Toronto forward Greg McKegg got the scoring started at 13:14 of the first period when he deked to his backhand and beat Hamilton goaltender Mike Condon. Forward Brad Ross had the only assist on the play.
After a scoreless second period, the 'Dogs scored two power play goals less than six minutes into the third period to take a 2-1 lead. First, forward Sven Andrighetto ripped a one-timer past Marlies goalie Christopher Gibson for his 14th marker of the season at 3:08, then forward Gabriel Dumont roofed a rebound off the back boards past Gibson for his 19th goal of the year at 5:31. Andrighetto as well as forwards T.J. Hensick, Charles Hudon and Eric Tangradi had assists.
Condon made 30 saves on 31 shots for the Bulldogs in the win, while Gibson stopped 31 of 33 shots for the Marlies in the loss.
Hamilton went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Toronto was 0-for-6 with a man advantage.
With the win, the Bulldogs jumped into seventh place in the American Hockey League's Western Conference, passing the Milwaukee Admirals, who play later tonight. The 'Dogs also separated themselves from the Marlies by four points, though the Toronto club has three games in hand.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday, April 2 when they'll host the Chicago Wolves at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
