
Bulldogs Drop Game 3 to Moose, but Still Lead Series 2-1

Winnipeg, MB - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Manitoba Moose 7-2 on Monday night at MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Jordan Schroeder recorded a hat-trick to lead the Moose to the win. The Bulldogs still lead the North Division Semi-Final series 2-1.
The Moose opened the scoring for the first time in the series with a power-play goal at 12:04 of the first frame. Guillaume Desbiens collected the puck at the right side boards before sending a pass across the ice to Schroeder, who blasted a one-time shot past Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins and into the net. Schroeder added his second power-play goal of the game at 14:28. Yan Stastny fired a shot on net that was stopped by Desjardins. Schroeder grabbed the loose rebound and flipped the puck into the top of the net.
Manitoba took a 3-0 lead at 2:02 of the second stanza. Tom Galvin received the puck from Peter Olvecky before blasting a shot on net. Dan Sexton redirected the puck past Desjardins for the goal. Schroeder scored his hat-trick goal at 2:43. Kevin Clark slid the puck between the legs of a Hamilton defender and onto the stick of Schroeder, who flicked a shot into the top of the net.
Following this goal, Robert Mayer replaced Desjardins in net.
Hamilton scored their first goal of the game at 2:59 of the middle frame. Dany Masse won a faceoff at the right faceoff circle and sent the puck to Chad Anderson, who was positioned at the top of the right faceoff circle. Anderson ripped a shot on net that bounced off the back of a Moose defender and past Manitoba starting goaltender Cory Schneider. The âDogs cut the Moose's lead in half at 8:51 with a power-play marker. David Desharnais sent a pass across the blue line to Andre Benoit, who wristed the puck on net. Ryan White tipped the shot, which beat Schneider over the blocker.
The Moose took a 5-2 lead at 3:58 of the final frame with a shorthanded tally. Ryan McGinnis chipped the puck to the centre of the ice, where Desbiens grabbed the puck and raced in alone on Mayer. Desbiens faked a forehand shot before going to his backhand and flipping the puck past the blocker of Mayer. Manitoba scored their sixth goal at 14:51. Schroeder sent a pass across the ice to Stastny, who one-timed a shot past Mayer. Macro Rosa added the Moose's seventh goal at 16:38. Sexton received the puck from Lawrence Nycholat before passing the puck to Rosa, who was at the right side of the net. Rosa rifled a shot past Mayer and into the net.
The Bulldogs will play Game 4 of their first round series in Winnipeg against the Moose on Wednesday, April 21st at 8:30 p.m. EST.
