
Bulldogs Crunch Syracuse With 5-1 Win

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Syracuse Crunch 5-1 in front of 3,659 fans at Copps Coliseum. Mike Glumac and Ryan Russell each recorded two goals in the victory.
The Crunch opened the game's scoring at 5:42 of the first frame. While on a power-play, Dan Fritsche sent a pass to Alexandre Picard, who was alone in front of the Bulldogs' net. Picard flipped the puck over the right shoulder of Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.
The âDogs tied the game at 6:40 of the opening period with while on the power play. Ben Maxwell fed a pass to Glumac, who raced down the right side boards before snapping a shot past the blocker of Syracuse starting goaltender Dan LaCosta. Glumac added his second goal of the game at 14:40. David Desharnais skated into the Crunch's zone before sending a pass back to Glumac, who was positioned at the top of the right faceoff circle. Glumac blasted a one-time shot that squeaked through the pads of LaCosta and into the back of the net.
Desharnais gave Hamilton a 3-1 lead 58 seconds into the game of the middle stanza. Brock Trotter fired a shot on net that was saved by LaCosta. Desharnais grabbed the loose rebound before backhanding a shot past the goaltender. Glumac also earned an assist on the goal, his third point of the night.
The âDogs added their fourth goal at 4:31 of the final frame. Maxwell skated down the right side boards before centering a pass to Russell, who was in front of the net. Russell tipped the pass up and over the shoulder of LaCosta and into the top of the net. Russell scored his second goal of the game at 6:19. Sergei Kostitsyn sent a pass to the slot where Russell was stationed. Russell wristed a shot that sailed past LaCosta and into the net.
The Bulldogs begin a four-game road trip in Abbotsford against the Head on Tuesday, November 17th at 10:30 p.m. EST.
