SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled center Logan Couture from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

In a related move, forward Ryan Vesce has been reassigned to Worcester.

Couture, 20, made his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Philadelphia. He picked up his first NHL point on Nov. 1 at Carolina, assisting on Brad Staubitz's game-winning goal.

Playing in his first full season as a professional, Couture has posted one goal and one assist in seven games for San Jose. He has also notched 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in eight games for Worcester. Couture has registered points in seven of his eight games played in Worcester.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Vesce has played in six games with San Jose this season, posting four points (three goals, one assist). He missed seven games due to a lower body injury. Before his recall on Oct. 17, Vesce registered three points (one goal, two assists) in three games for Worcester.

The five-foot-eight, 175-pound native of Lloyd Harbor, NY was signed by San Jose as a free agent on Aug. 12, 2008.
