Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
Hershey, Pennsylvania - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Hershey Bears 3-2 at Giant Center on Saturday night. Joonas Nattinen scored the winner while Nathan Beaulieu had two assists.
The Bears opened the scoring at 5:48 of the opening frame on a power-play goal by Ryan Potulny. Jeff Taffe dished the puck to Potulny who made a nifty backhand-to-forehand move and shovelled the puck under Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.
The Bulldogs tied the game at 1:57 of the second stanza on a power-play goal by Mike Blunden. After receiving the puck from Beaulieu, Blunden walked out of the far corner and snapped a shot under the crossbar over the shoulder of Hershey Bears starting goaltender Braden Holtby.
Hershey took a 2-1 lead at 3:32 of the second period on Potulny's second goal of the game. Steve Oleksy danced into the zone and gave the puck to Potulny who tapped it past Desjardins.
Hamilton tied the game at 7:02 of the second frame on a tally by Patrick Holland. Brendon Nash took a shot from the point which was stopped and the rebound came out in front to Holland who buried the puck by Holtby. The 'Dogs took the lead at 17:36 of the middle stanza on a marker by Nattinen. Beaulieu took a point shot through traffic and Nattinen got the rebound and put the puck behind Holtby from the doorstep.
