B-Sens Fall to Admirals, 3-1

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Norfolk Admirals defeated the Binghamton Senators 3-1 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night. With the victory the Admirals halted the B-Sens nine-game win streak.

Kyle Palmieri put the Admirals on the board first scoring at 7:32 of the game's opening period. Assists were credited to Jordan Hendry and Peter Holland.

Derek Grant answered for the B-Sens, scoring his league-leading third shorthanded goal, unassisted at the 14:30 mark of the first.

Norfolk went on to claim the lead for good as they netted two more goals during the second period. Hendry put the Admirals up 2-1 with help from Holland at 6:35 of the middle frame. Then at 17:48 Brandon McMillan, assisted by Devante Smith-Pelley and Mat Clark, gave the visiting Admirals a two-goal edge.

Robin Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens, stopping 32 of the 35 shots faced. Admirals' goaltender Frederik Andersen turned aside all but one of the 40 shots he faced to secure the win.

The B-Sens are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Syracuse to face the Crunch. Game time is 7 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
