
Bucs Three-Game Thanksgiving Week Opens in Sioux Falls

The Des Moines Buccaneers open another three-game week over the Thanksgiving holiday, with a road trip to Sioux Falls on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 22 at 7:05 p.m.
The Buccaneers return home to Des Moines and host the Black Friday Blackout game on Friday, Nov. 24 at 7:00 p.m. CT against the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the first matchup of the season between the squads, as part of the Duapco Cowbell Cup series. The Cowbell Cup play continues when Des Moines hits the road to Dubuque for a Saturday evening tilt at 7:05 p.m. CT.
All game will be streamed live exclusively on FloHockey.
The Buccaneers are 7-6-4-0 and sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference with 18 points. Sioux Falls (9-7-1-1) is one spot ahead in the standings, in fourth place with 20 points. In the Eastern Conference, Dubuque is in first place with a 13-2-1-2 overall record and 29 points in the standings, tied for the league lead in points in the West's first place team, Fargo.
Des Moines is on an 8-game point streak heading into this week's action, with the last regulation loss coming Oct. 27 at home in a 2-1 loss to Cedar Rapids. In that stretch, the Buccaneers are 6-0-2-0 with five regulation wins, one shootout win, and two overtime losses.
16-year old forward Ben Kevan, a Fairfiled, Ca. native and Arizona State commit is leading the team in scoring with 18 points on 10 goals and 8 assists, in 14 games played. Forward Paul Minnehan (Uncommitted//Cypress, Ca.) is next in scoring with 16 points on 6 goals and 10 assists. Forwards Lubomir Kupco (St. Cloud State//Kosice, Slovakia) and Davis Borozinskis (Western Michigan//Liepaja, Latvia) follow with 13 points each.
Ethan Dahlmeir (Uncommitted//Lakeville, Minn.) is the back-to-back USHL Goaltender of the Week. Dahlmeir allowed two goals in two games last weekend, stopping 38 of 40 shots helping the Buccaneers earn four points with a 7-1 win over Omaha and 4-1 win at Lincoln. The 2003-born goaltender posted a 1.00 goals against average and .965 save percentage in those two games. Dahlmeir has won his last five starts for the Buccaneers, allowing just eight goals in those five games, averaging just under 23 saves per game. In that five-game stretch, Dahlmeir posted a .923 save percentage and 1.57 GAA.
