LINCOLN, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight's rivalry game against the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. The matchup will be the Storm's final contest of the month. The Storm and the Stars' most recent matchup was exactly seven months ago in the final game of the 2022-2023 regular season. Tri-City won a 5-3 decision over Lincoln on April 22nd, 2023, at the Viaero Center. Puck drop for tonight's rivalry game between the Storm and the Stars is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
The Storm's next home games will be played on Friday, December 1st, and Saturday, December 2nd, against the Green Bay Gamblers. Puck drop for Friday's home game is set for 7:05pm CT, and Saturday's game will begin at 6:05pm CT. Tri-City (10-7-1-0) hits the road tonight to battle the Lincoln Stars as the 3rd place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Storm dropped a 6-5 decision on home ice against the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday night in the team's final game of the weekend. Cam Briere, Alexander Bales, A.J. Lacroix, Dallas Vieau, and Ryan Smith each netted a goal for Tri-City in the loss at the Viaero Center. The Storm has posted a 24-11-1-2 record in head-to-head battles against the Stars over the last five seasons. Tri-City completed the 2022-2023 regular season with a final record of 6-6-0-1 in games played against Lincoln. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's mid-week road battle against the Stars include August Falloon (10), Ryan Smith (8), Cam Briere (6), Artemi Nizameyev (5), Trevor Connelly (4), Jake Rozzi (4), Owen Beckner (4), and Dallas Vieau (4).
Lincoln (3-11-0-2) seeks to snap a ten-game winless skid in tonight's home game against Tri-City at the Ice Box. A loss in tonight's game by the Stars would match the organization's longest winless streak of the last twenty years. Lincoln went more than a month without winning a game, and lost eleven consecutive games, from February 1st, 2019, to March 2nd, 2019. The Stars finished that season by dropping twenty-two of the team's final twenty-four games of the year. Jack Pechar netted the Stars' lone goal in Saturday's 3-1 road loss to the Omaha Lancers at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. Scoring leaders for Lincon entering tonight's opening game of this year's nine-game season series include Jared Mangan (7), Jack Pechar (6), Dashel Oliver (3), German Yavash (3), Adam Kleber (2), and Blake Montgomery (2). The Stars will return to action again this weekend with back-to-back road games against the Sioux Falls Stampede and Omaha Lancers.
