
Bucks Tripped up By Americans

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 6-1 Friday night at Laredo Energy Arena, in front of their largest crowd of the season, 5,413 fans. The Bucks lost their third straight game as they fall to 14-20-6 (34 points).
The Americans (29-7-1) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first period as they picked up two power-play goals in the first 20 minutes of play.
Jarrett Lukin (5:22, 15:50) and Colton Yellow Yorn (10:57, 15:27) each scored two goals in the first period while Tobias Whelan added one more as the Bucks gave up their most goals in a period this season.
Both Yellow Horn and Lukin's second goals came 23 seconds apart midway through the first period.
Bucks goaltender Torrie Jung was replaced in the first period after he gave up four goals on 13 shots. Dave Wilson replaced Jung as he stopped 16 of 18.
The Bucks were outshot 18-9 in the first period.
David Nimmo scored on a breakaway just 3:02 into the second period to pick up his eighth of the campaign.
The Bucks outshot the Americans 11-8 in the second period.
Daniel Koger put the Bucks on the board when he made it 6-1 Allen with 7:58 left in the game. The goal was Koger's team-leading 21st of the season.
The Bucks outshot the Americans 10-5 in the third period but were outshot in the game 31-30.
Chris Whitley stopped 29 of 30 in net for the Americans.
Brian Matte missed his fifth straight game with a lower-body injury as the Bucks played with 15 skaters.
The Bucks will close out a home and home series with the Americans Saturday night in Allen. Game time is 7:00pm.
