Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Central Hockey League announced Thursday that Laredo Bucks forward Neil Trimm has been voted to the starting line-up for the CHL-All-Stars in the 2011 CHL All-Star Game on January 12th in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The starters were determined by voting among CHL Coaches, CHL Communication's staffs and select media members in CHL markets.
The CHL All-Stars will take on the host Rapid City Rush in the league's annual All-Star Game.
The 27-year-old Trimm will be making his first All-Star appearance in his third season in the CHL. In just 27 games this season Trimm has already surpassed his point total from last season as he has put up 37 points (10-2737). Trimm had 30 points (14-1630) in 43 games last season for the Bucks.
Trimm, a native of Westmeath, Ontario, has led the Bucks offensively this season with 10-multi-point games and a career-high 10-game point streak from October 15th to November 12th.
"Neil Trimm has been tremendous for us this season," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He deserves to be voted a starter and I'm happy that everyone who voted saw that. It will be a great experience for Neil and I am very happy for him."
Trimm will be joined in the CHL starting line-up by forwards David Rutherford (Bossier-Shreveport) and Sebastien Thinel (Odessa), defensemen Darcy Campbell (Rio Grande Valley) and Nathan Lutz (Mississippi) and goaltender Kyle Jones (Colorado).
In 2008-09 the 27-year-old Trimm finished 10th in the league in rookie scoring when he put up 44 points (17-2744) in 60 games with New Mexico. Six of Trimm's 17 goals, and 11 of his 27 assists that season were on the power-play.
Prior to his rookie season with New Mexico the 6'2, 200-pound Trimm had a standout four-year career for Neumann College (D-III) in Aston, PA, where he is at the top of the Knights record books.
Trimm is the Knights all-time leading scorer with 175 points, all-time leader in assists with 114, as well as second all-time in goals with 61.
During his four years at Neumann Trimm was named an All-American, and a two-time ECAC West All-Star. Trimm had his number retired by Neumann following the 2007-08 campaign.
