Missouri's Hillman Earns All-Star Co-Coach Spot

TEMPE, AZ (December 23, 2010) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Missouri Mavericks Head Coach Scott Hillman will represent the Turner Conference as one of two co-coaches for the 2011 CHL All-Star Team joining Allen American Head Coach Dwight Mullins who previously earned the spot representing the Berry Conference. The two second-year CHL coaches will lead the CHL All-Stars against the host Rapid City Rush at the 2011 CHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, January 12th in Rapid City, South Dakota at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena.

Hillman ‚¬â„¢s Mavericks earned the berth for the head coach thanks to a 2-0 win over the Quad City Mallards on Thursday night completing a late charge before the December 24th cut-off by winning five straight games. The coaches from each conference with the highest winning percentage after the games on December 23rd were rewarded with the all-star slots. The Mavs win streak has them one point behind the Rush for first place in the Turner Conference but their 640 win percentage is tops in the conference.

The starters for the CHL All-Star team were announced earlier today with Odessa ‚¬â„¢s Sebastien Thinel, Laredo ‚¬â„¢s Neil Trimm, Bossier-Shreveport ‚¬â„¢s David Rutherford, Rio Grande Valley ‚¬â„¢s Darcy Campbell, Mississippi ‚¬â„¢s Nathan Lutz and Colorado ‚¬â„¢s Kyle Jones earning the sports. The reserves will be announced next week and will be determined by Mullins and Hillman in conjunction with the CHL Hockey Operation ‚¬â„¢s Department.
