
Bucks to Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Opening Night

Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Bucks have announced that the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 28 at the entrance of Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo. The ceremony will be in conjunction with the Bucks 2015 Home Opener and will celebrate the team's new ownership and recently completed stadium renovations.
At 7:05 pm that night, the Bucks take on the Mankato MoonDogs for their Home Opener. The evening is filled with promotions, as the first 500 fans through the gate receive a Fear the Deer T-Shirt presented by Beck's Sports Brewery and Hurricane Grill & Wings and the first 1,000 fans receiving a Bucks Magnet Schedule presented by Adrenaline X Laser Tag. In addition to the giveaways, there will be a post-game Fireworks Extravaganza presented by The Home Depot.
On September 29, 2014, the sale of the Bucks to The Cedar Rapids Ball Club, Inc. (d.b.a. Cedar Rapids Kernels) became official. The Cedar Rapids Ball Club has been operating baseball teams since 1890 and is thrilled to continue the strong baseball tradition in the Cedar Valley. The organization is governed by a 15 person Board of Directors.
The Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber is a regional economic community development corporation working to increase economic vitality and wealth in the Waterloo / Cedar Falls area and surrounding economic region. The Alliance & Chamber has approximately 800 members that represents over 40,000 employees
The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, play at Riverfront Stadium. Team ownership has invested more than $70,000 in improvements to the ballpark since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, and concessions equipment.
