Laredo travels to Odessa this week looking to end a couple of bad streaks. The Bucks have not won at the Ector County Coliseum since game two of the 2009 Southern Conference semifinals (3/28/09), a span of five games. Since then the Bucks are 0-2-3 including 0-1 in the playoffs (2009, game five). All-five Bucks' losses in Odessa during this stretch have been by one goal.
Going back to the 2009 playoffs the Bucks have lost eight-straight one-goal games to Odessa (three in Laredo, five in Odessa).
Five of the seven meetings between Laredo and Odessa last season went beyond regulation with the Bucks posting a 1-1-5 mark against the Jackalopes (0-1-3 in Odessa).
So far this season Jeff Bes leads the Bucks in scoring through three games with six points (0-66) with Daniel Koger leading the team in goals with five (5-05). Neil Trimm (0-55) and Serge Dube (1-45) each have five points for the Bucks as well.
Bes is just four points away from 1,000 in his career.
With the Bucks next win Terry Ruskowski will pass Bill McDonald for fourth place All-time in CHL history with 321 wins. Ruskowski is currently tied with McDonald with 320 victories.
The Jackalopes are playing their home opener Thursday night after having gone 1-3 on their season opening four-game road trip.
Sebastien Thinel leads Odessa in scoring with seven points (4-37).
The Bucks and Jackalpoes will close out their two game series Saturday night in Odessa before Laredo starts a season-high five game home stand Tuesday (Nov. 2nd) against the Jackalopes.
