March 15, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Central Hockey League announced Monday that Laredo Bucks goaltender Pier Pelletier has been named Oakley/CHL goaltender of the week for the period ending March 14th.
The 22-year-old Pelletier went 3-0 on the weekend with two of the three wins coming on the road in shootouts.
Friday Pelletier stopped 37 of 39 shots and all three shootout attempts in the Bucks 3-2 shootout win in Rio Grande Valley. Saturday night Pelletier set aside 26 of 29 shots in Laredo's 5-3 win over Arizona. On Sunday the rookie netminder stopped 34 of 36 shots and all four Brahmas shootout attempts in the Bucks huge 3-2 shootout win in Texas.
Pelletier is 9-0-1 in his last 10 decisions with his last regulation loss coming on January 31st in Odessa (4-3 loss).
The 6'2'', 200 pound Pelletier is 9-4-2 on the season with a 2.89 G.A.A and a .913 sv. %.
Pelletier, a native of St. Louis, Quebec, became just the second Bucks goaltender in franchise history to start and win all three games of a three games in three nights stretch. David Guerrera was the first Bucks goaltender to accomplish that feat from January 9-11, 2004 when he went 3-0 in a three-in-three.
Pelletier is the fourth Bucks player to capture a weekly league award this season.
