Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced
March 15, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
(Tempe, AZ) - The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley Central Hockey League Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 14, 2010 are forward Collin Circelli of the Odessa Jackalopes and goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier of the Laredo Bucks.
Circelli registered two points in all four Jackalopes games last week helping the team to a 3-0-1 record. He finished with four goals and four assists and was a +7. Two of the Oshawa, Ontario native's goals served as game winning goals. He started the week with two goals in the Jacks 3-0 shutout win over Northern Conference leading Rapid City and ended the week with the only two goals in Odessa's 2-1 win at Amarillo on Sunday. On the season, Circelli is third in the CHL with 35 goals and ranks just outside the league's top 10 with 68 points (35-33=68).
Pelletier helped clinch a playoff berth for the Bucks with his strong play and has since helped strengthen their hold on the third seed in the Southern Conference standings. On the week, the St. Louis, Quebec native won all three starts allowing seven goals on 104 shots (.933 save percentage). Two of his three victories came in shootouts and collectively he did not allow a goal in the shootouts stopping all seven shooters he faced in the wins over Rio Grande Valley and Texas. After starting 0-4-1 with the Bucks, the rookie has won nine of his next 10 decisions and is 9-4-2 on the season.
In recognition of their achievements both Circelli and Pelletier will receive a special gift from Oakley.
