Bucks Lose in Heartbreaker

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, fell to the Allen Americans 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Laredo Bucks faced the Allen Americans for the second straight day on Saturday at the Laredo Energy Arena. Ryan Rondeau started in net for the Bucks, making several key saves at the beginning of the first period. It was a back and forth game for the first half of the period, until Kyle Mariani found the open side of the net for the Bucks at 10:41. Ryan Sparling and Rusty Masters assisted on the goal that gave the Bucks a 1-0 lead.

The Allen Americans would tie the game in the second period with a goal from Jarret Lukin 7:08. The Bucks special teams, along with the outstanding play of Ryan Rondeau, kept the score tied at 1-1 to end the second period. The Bucks outshot the Americans in the period 14-9.

The play continued to be tight into the third period. The Bucks successfully killed off a 5-3 penalty kill early in the period and Ryan Rondeau continued to play well. However, the Americans were able to take the lead at 12:44 when Bruce Graham scored a wrap around goal. The Bucks would pull Rondeau during the final minute of play, but were unable to capitalize.

The Laredo Bucks will now be on the road for their next five games, before returning home to the LEA on Saturday, November 26th when they will face the Texas Brahmas. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to get your tickets!
