
Duane Lewis to Guest at Sports Management Conference

GLENDALE, AZ (November 12, 2011) - Central Hockey League (CHL) Commissioner Duane Lewis has been invited to fill a seat at the table of the Commissioners' Roundtable at the 2011 Sports Management Conference in Toronto on Monday, November 14.
Lewis will join Bill Daly (Deputy Commissioner and Chief Legal Officer of the National Hockey League), Dave Andrews (President and CEO of the American Hockey League), David Branch (Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League and President of the Canadian Hockey League), Mark Cohon (Commissioner of the Canadian Football League) and George Daniel (Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League). The roundtable will be moderated by Clark Griffith (Sports Lawyer and former Commissioner of the Northern Baseball League).
"I am very honored to be in the company of such a distinguished group," said Lewis. "I hope to be able to not only share the experiences of the CHL but to be a student throughout the entire event and learn how these exceptional leaders conduct business in their respective leagues."
The 2011 Sports Management Conference is scheduled for November 14 and 15 at the Fairmount Royal York Hotel in Toronto and is co-chaired by Brian Burke (President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs) and Trevor Whiffen (Partner, Dickinson Wright LLP and Governor, London Knights-OHL).
The two days of meetings, speakers and conference highlight specific areas of sports management such as Alternative Revenue Streams, Competing for Dollars and Meeting Stakeholders Expectations with select guest and panelists.
Scheduled to give the ¬ËKeynote Address' is NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, with Indianapolis Colts President Bill Polian speaking during the ¬ËNetworking Luncheon' on Nov. 15.
