LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League shutout the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-0 Wednesday night, in front of a season-high 5,127 fans at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks snapped their five-game winless streak and broke the Killer Bees five-game winning streak as they improve to 10-13-4 (24 points).

Torrie Jung picked up his first professional shutout as he stopped all 38 Killer Bees shots as he improves to 6-5-1 in net this season.

The Bucks picked up their first shutout since December 19, 2009 when they beat Corpus Christi 2-0.

Laredo picked up their franchise-record 68th win against Rio Grande Valley giving them the most wins over a single opponent in franchise history.

The Bucks scored first for the first time in six games as they took a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Laredo jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 2:18 into the game when Ryan Lehr hammered in a rebound from the slot to score his fourth of the season.

The Bucks would go up 2-0 with 6:49 left in the first when Justin Styffe scored on a wrist shot from the hash marks. The goal was Styffe's third tally of the season and his first since returning from IR Tuesday night.

Laredo outshot Rio Grande Valley 12-11 in the first period.

The Bucks would strike for three more goals during a two minute span in the second period to build a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Laredo would go up 3-0 at the 7:03 mark of the second when Addison DeBoer scored from the top of the left circle to score his fourth of the season.

The Bucks would increase their lead to 4-0 just 1:12 later when Daniel Koger redirected Lehr's slap shot to score his team-leading 15th of the season.

Laredo would go up 5-0 just 59 seconds later when Reid Edmondson took a feed from Hans Benson on a two-on-one break and stuffed in a shot from the left side of the crease. Edmondson picked up his fourth goal of the season.

With Laredo up 5-0 Rio Grande Valley would pull goaltender Juliano Pagliero who gave up five goals on 16 shots.

The Bucks were outshot 13-7 in the second period.

Neither team scored in the third period as the Bucks were outshot 14-7.

The Killer Bees (13-13-3) outshot the Bucks in the game 38-27.

The Bucks will be off for Christmas and return to action with a three-game series in Arizona beginning December 29th.
