OKLAHOMA CITY – The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks capped a four road game in five night stretch by beating the Oklahoma City Blazers 4-2 at the Ford Center on Tuesday night in front of 6,501 fans. The Bucks are 7-0-1 in their last eight games as they grabbed seven of a possible eight points during this road tough stretch. Laredo is now 30-22-3 with 63 points and all alone in first place in the Southeast Division. The Bucks finish a season high five game road trip on Friday night in Corpus Christi. The Bucks killed off three Blazers power play chances in the first period then went to work on a man advantage chance of their own. Forward Brent Cullaton carried down the right wing and snapped off a shot that was stopped, but forward Lou Dickenson was there to slam in the rebound at 18:06 for a 1-0 Laredo lead. It was the fifth of the season with the Bucks for Dickenson.

In the second period Dickenson scored again as this time he fired a wrist shot from the bottom of the left circle that snuck thru goalie Sean Connors at 7:17 to make it 2-0 Bucks. The Blazers got on the scoreboard when forward Michel Beausoleil tapped in a loose puck at 14:48. It was his 43rd of the season, second highest in the CHL.

Early in the third the Bucks added to their lead as defenseman Oriel McHugh one timed home a rocket just 1:32 into the frame to make it 3-1 Laredo. It was the seventh of the year for McHugh. The Blazers fought back again as defenseman Tyler Fleck swatted in a rebound at 8:41. With the Blazers goalie pulled the Bucks iced the game when forward Jeff Bes slid the puck into the empty net. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Oklahoma City 2.

David Guerrera turned in his fourth straight terrific start as he stopped 22 of 24 shots and improved to 14-12-2. Connors allowed three goals on 34 shots to fall to 16-9-7. The Bucks were 1-5 on the power play while Oklahoma City was 0-6.

WHITEOUT SATURDAY

· The Laredo Bucks have declared a whiteout for their Saturday game against the Austin Ice Bats. The Bucks will assist fans with the whiteout by offering 10 percent off all white merchandise at the Bucks Team Store located at the LEC. Fans are encouraged to wear white in a show of solidarity for the hometown Bucks. The effect of the whiteout creates a feeling of unity between the fans and the team.

GIVE BLOOD PLAY HOCKEY PART TWO ON SATURDAY

· Saturday fans can donate blood from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the LEC. All donors will receive a Give Blood Play Hockey T-Shirt and also will receive a ticket for a future Bucks game. In addition they will be entered in a drawing for prizes that will be given away during the Bucks game on Saturday.
