Laredo enters tonight's game against Odessa in third place in the Southern Conference playoff race, as they sit behnd Texas and the Jackalopes in the standings. The Bucks are 12 points back of the Brahmas, with Odessa locked into the second seed. The Jackalopes have already sewn up the Southwest Division championship, and will get either the first or second seed.
If the seedings stay the same the Bucks would take on the Jackalopes in the Southern Conference Semi-Finals, with Odessa getting the home ice advantage.
After winning three straight games last week, the Bucks are on a two-game winless streak (0-1-1), falling 7-3 at home to Arizona, and losing a shootout 4-3 to Corpus on Wednesday.
Brent Cullaton scored a goal Wednesday to increase his team-leading point total to 68 (18-50=68). Cullaton is tied for fifth in the CHL in scoring.
Odessa has the top two scorers in the league on their roster, with Sebastien Thinel (34-49=83) and Dominic Leveille (24-50=79). Thinel is tied for first in the CHL with the Bucks Darryl Smith in goals scored with 34.
Laredo will return home on Sunday afternoon for a rematch with the Ice Rays at the LEC. It's TAMIU Day, where the first 1,500 fans get a TAMIU Day T-shirt! The Bucks will wear special St. Paddy's Day Jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game.
