Buck and Sessions Named to PCL All-Star Team

Metairie, LA – The New Orleans Zephyrs the Class AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that Catcher John Buck and Pitcher Doug Sessions have been selected to the Pacific Coast League's All-Star Team. The game is slated for the PCL All-Stars to take on the International League All-Star Team in the 16th annual Triple-A All-Star Game. The game will take place on July 16, 2003 at AutoZone Park in Memphis. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 starting at 7:00 P.M.

Sessions, 26 from Orange Park, FL, is 4-1 with a 2.20 ERA (19ER/77.2I IP) with 55 strikeouts and 25 walks. His 2.20 ERA ranks second in the PCL. Buck, 22 from Salt Lake City, UT, is batting .268 (69x257) with 17 doubles and 38 RBI. He leads the Zephyrs in doubles and is second in RBI.

The first place Zephyrs have won seven of eight games on their recent west coast road trip. The Z's return home to begin an eight game home-stand tonight at 7:05 p.m. The Zephyrs will face the Albuquerque Isotopes; the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Florida Marlins, for four games followed by the Nashville Sounds, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates for four games. The Z's lead the PCL Eastern Division by 2 ½ games over Nashville.
