
Bruins Sign Four Players

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League (AHL), announced today they have signed defenseman Chris Dyment, forward David Lundbohm and center Milan Gajic to AHL contracts for the 2005-06 season. As per team policy, terms of the agreements are not being released.
Dyment, 25, enters his fourth professional season. Last season, the Reading, Massachusetts native played 48 games for the Providence Bruins, finishing with seven points (3g, 4a) and 112 PIM. Dyment was the Montreal Canadiens third pick (fourth round), 97th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. From 1998-02 he skated for Boston University where, for two seasons, he was the teams' top scoring defenseman and a Second-Team All-American. In his first professional season with the Houston Aeros, Dyment was a member of their Calder Cup winning team. The following year, the defenseman was traded by the Minnesota Wild to the Phoenix Coyotes and spent the rest of the season with their AHL affiliate the Springfield Falcons. Over his career, Dyment has 14 points (6g, 8a) and 204 PIM in 124 AHL games.
Lundbohm, 25, enters his second professional season. Last season, the Roseau, Minnesota native played 65 games for the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, tallying 40 points (18g, 22a) and 61 PIM. Lundbohm helped lead Florida to the ECHL Finals where they lost to the Trenton Titans 4 games to 2. Prior to turning pro, the forward spent four seasons at the University of North Dakota. In his junior season, Lundbohm led his team in assists (37) and plus/minus (+36), while finishing third on the team in scoring with 52 points (15g, 37a) and being named an All-American Candidate.
Gajic, 24, enters his rookie season. The Burnaby, British Columbia native spent the last four seasons at the University of Michigan, where he had 115 points (53g, 62a) and 148 PIM in 158 games. Last year he set career highs in games played (42), goals (20) and points (39). Gajic was the Atlanta Thrasher's fourth pick, 112th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
In other news, the Boston Bruins signed center Ben Walter to a three -year contract. Walter, 21, was the Bruins' fifth pick, 160th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. The Vancouver, British Columbia native spent the past three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he recorded 90 points (49g, 41a) and 58 PIM in 107 games. Last season he led Hockey East in goals (26), including three hat tricks and tied for ninth in points (39).
The 2005-06 season opens up at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday, October 14th at 7:05 p.m. against the Portland Pirates.
