Bruins fall in shootout

The Providence Bruins and Worcester IceCats went to overtime and then a shootout on Saturday night at the DCU Center, with the IceCats winning, 2-1 on their second shot of the shootout's second round. The Bruins picked up a point in the standings and are now 12-10-2-3 (29 points), putting them in fourth place in the Atlantic Division standings, one point behind Worcester.

Bruin right wing Colton Orr scored his first goal of the season at 2:12 of the second period, with assists from Leon Hayward and Brendan Walsh.

Worcester's Peter Sejna tied the game at 18:34 of the third period, forcing overtime and then the shootout. Bruin forward Keith Aucoin scored on the first shot of the shootout, before Alexei Shkotov, Worcester's fifth shooter, forced the second round. Sejna sealed the game on the IceCats' second shot of the second round.

Bruin goaltender Cody Rudkowsky stopped 39 shots overall and is 2-1-1 on the season.

The Bruins return home to host the Binghamton Senators on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. Following the game, Bruin players Jay Henderson and Chris Dyment will sign autographs on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse behind Section 110.

The Bruins' Toys for Tots collection continues on Sunday. Bruins wives and girlfriends will collect unopened toys in the Dunkin' Donuts Center lobby before both games, to be donated to the Toys for Tots program.
